The NIH did not release further details on the patient. However, American charity Partners in Health released a statement saying the Ebola patient was a clinician working with the charity’s Ebola response in Sierra Leone.
According to The New York Times, the patient is male and could have been exposed to Ebola while removing personal protective equipment on his way out of the high-risk zone of an Ebola treatment unit in Sierra Leone.
