Alta Bates Summit Medical Center Fined $143K for Patient Safety Violation

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, Calif., has been fined $142,870 for not properly isolating suspected tuberculosis patients, according to a Mercury News report.

None of the patients tested positive for tuberculosis, and the hospital plans to appeal the citation, according to the report.
