9 of the Latest Performance, Quality Report Cards

Here are nine performance and quality report cards compiled on Becker’s Hospital Review over the past four weeks, starting with the most recent.

1. Trust for America’s Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation released a report on infectious diseases in the country that finds 34 states only meet half of the key indicators for infection control and prevention.

2. The Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council released a report on the performance of hospitals across the state.

3. The Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority released a report on medication adherence that found three percent of medication reconciliation errors led to adverse events.

4. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a report on healthcare improvements in 2013 and its goals for 2014.

5. The healthcare field is lacking research comparing effectiveness of different communication models, according to a report by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

6. The New York State Department of Health released a report that shows all healthcare-associated infections except for Clostridium difficile have decreased across the state since 2007.

7. A report by the Dartmouth Atlas Project shows children in New England may be receiving unnecessary care.

8. The Healthcare Incentives Improvement Initiative released a report giving 94 percent of states a D or F grade in transparency and quality of physician quality information.

9. The California Department of Public Health’s Payers and Providers report shows healthcare-associated infections slightly decreased from 2011 to 2012.
