6 Iowa hospitals with the cleanest rooms, as reported by patients

The following is a list of hospitals in Iowa for which 86 percent or more of patients reported on their HCAHPS surveys that their room and bathroom were "always" clean.

Data are from July 2014 through June 2015, the most recent data available from CMS' Hospital Compare database.

For reference, Iowa's average rate for patients reporting their room and bathroom were "always" clean is 79 percent. The national average is 74 percent.

Note: Hospitals with insufficient data, such as having fewer than 100 completed HCAHPS surveys, were excluded.

1. Osceola Community Hospital (Sibley) — 96 percent

2. Iowa Specialty Hospital-Belmond — 91 percent

3. St. Anthony Regional Hospital & Nursing Home (Carroll) — 88 percent

4. Floyd Valley Hospital (Le Mars) — 88 percent

5. Winneshiek Medical Center (Decorah) — 86 percent

6. Orange City (Iowa) Area Health System — 86 percent
