5 hospitals in Utah with top nurse-patient communication scores

The following hospitals in Utah received top marks on patients’ HCAHPS surveys for nurse communication.

At least 83 percent of patients at these five hospitals responded on their surveys that nurses always communicated well. In Utah, the average is 79, slightly lower than the national average of 80 percent.

The figures are from CMS’ Hospital Compare website and represent HCAHPS scores collected from July 2015 through June 2016, the most recent data available.

Note: Hospitals with fewer than 100 completed surveys were excluded from consideration for this list.

Central Valley Medical Center (Nephi) — 85 percent

Sanpete Valley Hospital (Mount Pleasant) — 85 percent

Gunnison Valley Hospital — 85 percent

Bear River Valley Hospital (Tremonton) — 84 percent

Heber Valley Hospital (Heber City) — 83 percent
