40 New York hospitals receive $22.9M in quality improvement incentives

Univera Healthcare and its parent company Excellus allocated $22.9 million in funds to 40 hospitals in upstate New York for quality improvement incentives, according to All WNY News.

Hospitals will use the funds to improve care processes for heart attack care, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care. Additionally, the funds will help bolster patient safety efforts to reduce hospital-acquired infections and adverse events.

"We're pleased that our collaboration with providers has resulted in higher quality scores and increased value for our members," said Tony Vitagliano, Univera vice president for health system performance, according to All WNY News.
