CMS seeks input for pediatric alternative payment model

CMS put out a request for information Monday seeking input in the development of an alternative payment model specifically for pediatric care for enrollees of Medicaid and CHIP.

In particular, the agency is looking for ways pediatric providers can partner and share risk with social service providers to improve quality and cost for Medicaid pediatric care. It seeks comment on how ACOs present opportunities and challenges for pediatric patients, what flexibilities and supports providers would need to implement a pediatric APM and how providers could coordinate care with social service organizations.

CMS is collecting comments and questions via email: HealthyChildrenandYouth@cms.hhs.gov. It will accept comments until 11:59 p.m. March 28.
