The Infectious Diseases Society of America, Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America and Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society collaborated to establish the Leaders in Epidemiology, Antimicrobial stewardship, and Public health Fellowship, or LEAP Fellowship.
The fellowship aims to support the next generation of infectious diseases leaders in hospital epidemiology and antimicrobial stewardship. It includes four grants of $100,000, which will be given to infectious disease fellows or early-career clinical infectious disease physicians.
The funds will help fellowship awardees foster collaborative endeavors between academic institutions and local public health departments. The awardees will also receive hands-on experience with public health departments.
The application closes March 5, and awardees will be announced April 9.
