10 most-Googled symptoms of 2015

We use Google for everything, from finding directions to researching current events to discovering answers to a far-fetched question, and we also use it for healthcare topics: One in 20 Google searches are for health-related information.

Google launched its health conditions feature in February to allow users who ask about common health conditions to get “relevant medical facts right up front from the Knowledge Graph,” including symptoms, treatments and how common the condition is.

Then, in September, Google expanded and updated the health information users could search for, working with physicians from Google and Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic to validate the information.

And people have been putting these features to use in 2015. Below are the 10 most searched for symptoms this year, according to Google.

1. Flu

2. Gallbladder infection

3. Measles

4. Listeria

5. Sinus infection

6. Gastritis

7. Anxiety attack

8. H. Pylori infection

9. Heat stroke

10. Lactose intolerance
