The unit aims to help people get tested for COVID-19, even if they lack access to transportation and drive-thru testing sites.
Its first stop was at a homeless shelter downtown, where 100 people were tested in one day. The health system will also work with federally qualified health centers to “increase testing orders for underserved people,” said Jeff Flaks, president and CEO of Hartford HealthCare.
“We’ve been working very hard at expanding our testing capabilities and creating our mobile capacity that we will be rolling out now every day,” said Mr. Flaks.
