The poll, posted to Becker’s LinkedIn page in early February, asked participants to vote on the greatest opportunity for growth in rehab hospitals.
Of 809 votes, 63% said patient outcomes, 23% said services, 12% said safety and 1% said other. Becker’s has no insights on respondents’ organizations or roles.
“Organize rehab hospitals with the same level of support as an acute care hospital,” Zohair Raza, MD, cardiologist and president at Houston Health Specialists, said in the poll’s comment section. “There should be robust physician coverage, imaging, lab, support staff and EHR. If this is done then all growth metrics will be achieved.”
