Henrico, Va.-based Select Specialty Hospital is planning to build an inpatient medical rehabilitation unit, Richmond BizSense reported March 9.
The 60-bed, long-term care hospital is planning to build the 16-bed unit in a 6,400-square-foot space within the hospital. The project is expected to cost $10 million and be completed by February 2027.
The hospital is looking to add about 40 full-time staff positions in connection with the rehab unit.
In total, the hospital will renovate 15,600 square feet on the third floor, which includes nurses stations and a gym, as well as the future bed areas.
Select Specialty Hospital is owned by Mechanicsburg, Pa.-based parent company Select Medical Corp., which is one of the largest operators of critical care recovery hospitals, rehab hospitals and outpatient rehabilitation clinics.
