2 women fatally shot in California assisted living facility: Police

Two women were shot and killed at a Diamond Bar, Calif.-based assisted living facility, Fox affiliate KTTV reported June 24.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call around 8 a.m. Police found two women with gunshot wounds at the Happy Home Care for Elderly. The women were pronounced dead. Police have not said whether the victims were employees or residents of the facility, NBC affiliate KNBC reported.

Police told NBC and Fox they arrested a 40-year-old employee who worked as a live-in caretaker at the facility.

Neighbors told KNBC that the Happy Home Care housed six residents and some employees.
