A nurse has been charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter and two misdemeanors after a patient died at the Avenue at Warrensville Care & Rehabilitation Center in Warrensville Heights, Ohio, according to a Jan. 16 report from ABC affiliate WEWS.
A Warrensville Heights police report said Amber Henderson neglected to report an 84-year-old patient had gone missing for nine hours. After police had been called, the patient was found dead outside the center. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office determined the patient died from hypothermia, the WEWS report said.
Becker's has reached out to the Avenue at Warrensville Care & Rehabilitation Center and the center's operator, Progressive Quality Care, for comment and will update this story if more information becomes available.
