Mercy Health, Lifepoint break ground on rehab hospital

Mercy Health-Youngstown (Ohio) and Lifepoint Rehabilitation broke ground on a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital in that city.

The 66,000-square-foot, 60-bed facility will feature all private rooms, a multidisciplinary therapy gym, outdoor courtyards and a 12-bed secured brain injury unit, according to an Aug. 31 news release from Cincinnati-based Mercy Health. The Youngstown facility will be called Mercy Health Rehabilitation Hospital and be jointly operated by the two organizations. It is expected to open in late 2024.

Lifepoint Health is based in Brentwood, Tenn.
