Massachusetts VA hospital launches geriatric NP residency

VA Bedford (Mass.) Healthcare System is launching a geriatrics and extended care nurse practitioner residency program.

The program, led by Brittany Carey, MSN, APRN, will provide geriatric-focused clinical and educational experience through a 12-month supervised clinical rotation, according to a March 9 hospital news release. The program includes rotations in community living centers, geriatric evaluation and management units, dementia special care units, outpatient geriatrics clinic, home-based primary care, hospice and palliative care, and specialty geriatric consultation teams.

The program will begin in the 2026-2027 academic year.
