Home health agencies in Alabama, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, South Carolina and Tennessee had an average patient care quality rating of 4 stars, the highest of all states, according to CMS data published Jan. 14.
Montana earned the lowest average patient care quality rating for home health agencies with 2.5 stars.
CMS collects and reports data on about 12,000 home health agencies as part of its Home Health Quality Reporting Program. Read more about the program here.
