The current law requires certified nursing assistants to provide a minimum of two and half hours of direct care per resident daily. The bill maintains the current law requiring certified nursing assistants and licensed nurses to provide a weekly average of 3.6 hours of direct care per patient per day, but factors in time spent by other types of workers, such as physical therapists.
Florida lowers nursing home care requirements
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill lowering the duration of nursing home residents’ direct care to two hours daily, Tampa Bay Times reported April 7.
