Thirty-one residents were evacuated in school buses from the Peach Tree Village assisted living facility in Brandon, Miss. due to flooding, CNN reported Aug. 24.
Mayor Butch Lee said about three feet of water passed through the facility at one point.
All residents are reported safe. Staff have contacted residents' families and are working to find permanent placements for them while the facility is repaired.
