The closing of Trumbull, Conn.-based St. Joseph’s Center nursing home, part of Kennett Square, Pa.-based Genesis Healthcare, will result in a loss of 179 jobs.

A June 10 WARN notice filed by the health system said the facility is expected to close Aug. 9.

Genesis Healthcare attributed the facility’s closing to inadequate Medicaid funding and an inability to obtain state and federal CMS waivers, according to a June 24 Greenwich Time report.
