Lifepoint Rehabilitation, an operating division of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health, has formed a joint venture with Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center–Longview in Texas to operate Longview Rehabilitation Hospital.
Three notes:
1. The jointly owned rehabilitation hospital was renamed Christus Health Rehabilitation Hospital, according to a joint July 1 news release.
2. The hospital includes 36 private rooms, expanding inpatient rehabilitation capacity while allowing Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center–Longview to repurpose its existing rehabilitation unit to support acute care demand.
3. Lifepoint Rehabilitation will continue managing the hospital’s day-to-day operations. Care teams from the rehabilitation hospital and the medical center’s former inpatient rehabilitation unit will provide care for adults recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, orthopedic surgery, amputation and other conditions.
Irving, Texas-based Christus Health operates more than 60 hospitals. Lifepoint Rehabilitation operates 50 freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities.
