Orange, Calif.-based UCI Health’s academic rehabilitation hospital will open this summer.

The 52-bed facility will nearly quadruple the system’s critical rehabilitation care services in the region, and will be Orange County’s first academic rehab hospital, according to a May 12 system news release. The hospital is a joint-venture partnership with Lifepoint Rehabilitation and will be led by Jay Han, MD.

The facility will offer typical rehabilitation services, as well as a dedicated wing for inpatient cancer rehabilitation that will be led by a cancer rehabilitation physician and a team specializing in supportive oncology therapies.

A 68,000-square-foot facility broke ground in February 2024.
