Here are five nursing homes opening and closing recently:
- Newport (Vt.) Health Care Center is closing in March, a move that will displace 30 residents.
- Atrium Health's $100 million Carolinas Rehabilitation facility in Charlotte, N.C., opened Jan. 14.
- Avantara Arlington (S.D.) will close in February; it was the seventh nursing home in South Dakota to announce its closure in 2022.
- Lake Charles, La.-based Calcasieu Community Care Center, a nursing home and rehabilitation center, reopened in December.
- Seattle-based Catholic Community Services closed its hospice care division.
