The “State of the Skilled Nursing Facility Industry” report surveyed over 330 facilities across 24 states with the American Health Care Association.
Three key findings:
- General inflation for nursing homes increased to 8.5 percent between March 2021 and March 2022.
- All nurses’ hourly wages increased by 28 percent to 34 percent from 2020 to 2022.
- Around 20.4 percent of nursing homes considered financially at-risk tend to reside in counties serving a higher percentage of racial and ethnic minority populations compared to nursing homes in counties not at financial risk, 13.7 percent.
