2 New Jersey nursing home nurses indicted in patient death

A nurse and former LPN at a New Jersey nursing home have been indicted in the 2017 death of a patient, the acting Attorney General of New Jersey said Feb. 4.

Margaret Martin, 63, a former LPN, of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., was indicted on one count of second-degree reckless manslaughter, and Mary Lumor, RN, 31, of Galloway, N.J., was indicted on fourth-degree destruction, falsification or alteration of records relating to medical care.

The indictment alleges that Ms. Martin committed manslaughter by causing the death of a patient on or about July 28, 2017, and Ms. Lumor falsified medical records at Absecon Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Ms. Martin's LPN license was revoked by consent order in September 2017, according to the acting attorney general's office.
