Trump signs exec order on human trafficking: 3 things to know

President Donald Trump on Jan. 31 signed an executive order to strengthen the government's response against human trafficking.

Three things to know:

1. The order creates a new position in the White House's domestic policy office in which an employee will solely focus on human trafficking issues and coordinate response efforts with other departments.

2. The White House will create a website to house resources on human trafficking and work to improve methodologies for estimating the prevalence of human trafficking in the U.S.

3. The executive order also aims to expand housing for human trafficking victims, fund human trafficking programs in U.S. schools and prevent the online exploitation of children.
