Researchers at the CDC, in partnership with the CDC Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, created the 500 Cities Project, an interactive application designed to help identify geographical areas where specific health outcomes such as diabetes, cancer and high cholesterol levels, among others, are most prevalent.
Here are the top 10 cities with the highest percentage of adults diagnosed with COPD, an umbrella term encompassing a number of progressive lung diseases such as chronic bronchitis, emphysema and asthma, according to the COPD Foundation. The results have been adjusted for age.
