Henry Ford Health System to open QuickCare clinic

Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System plans to open its first QuickCare medical clinic Aug. 3, according to a Crain's Detroit Business report.

The Detroit clinic will be staffed by a nurse practitioner and six employees. Services will include primary and urgent care and immunizations for travel.

In 2013, Henry Ford partnered with MinuteClinic to provide medical directors to over 12 CVS MinuteClinic centers in metro Detroit. The contract has been changed to remove the exclusive arrangement with MinuteClinic.

"This frees us to do QuickCare clinics," said Paul Szilagyi, Henry Ford's vice president of primary care and medical centers.

Henry Ford owns 30 outpatient medical centers and five walk-in clinics in southeast Michigan. Mr. Szilagyi said Henry Ford is hoping to add two QuickCare sites in high-density areas.
