According to a recent CIO article, The New Hampshire-based health system will begin piloting its new health solution, ImagineCare. Utilizing Microsoft’s new Cortana Analytics Suite and Microsoft Dynamics, Dartmouth-Hitchcock is inviting its patients to “imagine” all of their health data in one place.
ImagineCare is a new health solution aimed at targeting the whole body health: physical, mental and emotional.
Not only will this system include hospital and doctor’s office records, it will also be looking to track moods, at-home blood pressure cuff results and pulse oximeter devices via smartphones.
With all this information, health care providers can take immediate and preventative action.
“Imagine you get a high blood-pressure reading,” notes Nathan Larson, director of Remote Medical Sensing at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. “The nurse pops up within seconds, welcomes you by name and helps you understand what it means and what you might need to next.”
Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s aim with ImagineCare is to prevent people from getting sick and providing health care providers with data that can help provide preventive, optimal care.
CEO of Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Dr. Jim Weinstein, is focusing on keeping people out of the hospital by vigorously pursuing preventative care.
“Imagine a health system grounded in population-based strategies, not market share. Imagine a health system that rewards quality, not quantity. Imagine a health system where patients only receive the care they want when they’re well informed,” said Dr. Weinstein.
Dartmouth-Hitchcock will begin implementing ImagineCare in October to 6,000 patients.
