CBS, WarnerMedia and Viacom will stop running e-cigarette ads

Several major media companies — CBS, WarnerMedia and Viacom — said they will no longer run e-cigarette advertisements, according to CNBC.

CNN also said last week it would no longer allow vaping products to advertise on its network.

The decisions to stop advertising the products come after seven people have died from an unknown vaping-related illness.

A WarnerMedia spokesperson told CNBC in a statement that its decision was based on warnings from the CDC, the American Medical Association and the American Lung Association.
