4 hospital outreach programs awarded $2.5k to continue operations

Atlanta-based staffing and technology company Jackson Healthcare has recognized four hospital outreach efforts as "Programs of Promise" and awarded each $2,500 in unrestricted funds to go toward their operations.

Each of the four hospital programs has demonstrated potential in community impact, innovation, collaboration, leading practices and replicability.

Here are the four winning hospitals and "Programs of Promise."

  • Union General Hospital (Farmerville, La.). The hospital's anti-bullying program — called Union Parish: Together We Can Be Bully Free — affects the lives of more than one thousand third through fifth graders each year.
  • Baptist Health (Little Rock, Ark.). The Telehealth Lactation Consulting Program gave a telephone triage guide to every hospital and clinic in the state to help provide free, around-the-clock phone support to mothers living below the poverty line.
  • Erlanger Health System (Chattanooga, Tenn.). The system's Sequatchie Valley Health Initiative, based in Dunlap, Tenn., is helping boost the health of one of the state's lowest ranked counties.
  • Baptist Memorial Health Care (Memphis, Tenn.). The system's Universal Parenting Place is a judgment-free zone where parents can receive professional counseling, information and emotional support for family-related issues.

Jackson Healthcare also named 10 hospital "Programs of Excellence," which will share equally in $100,000 of unrestricted funds.
