Jackson Healthcare award recognizes 10 hospital outreach programs

Ten charitable hospital outreach programs have been recognized as "Programs of Excellence" by Atlanta-based staffing and technology company Jackson Healthcare and will share equally in $100,000 of unrestricted funds.

Each of the winning programs demonstrated excellence in community impact, innovation, collaboration, leading practices and replicability.

Here are the 10 winning hospitals and program awardees.

  • Island Hospital (Anacortes, Wash.). The hospital foundation's Community Mental and Behavioral Health Initiative tackles access to mental healthcare through an outpatient clinic — the first of its kind in the state.
