As part of the partnership, the Monroe County Community Safety Program will enhance its services and create more educational materials for the community on how to properly install car seats and the importance of distracted driving and accident prevention.
Additionally, The Children’s Hospital at LVH will deploy its driving simulators at Monroe County schools, activities and events throughout the year to help educate families and children on the dangers of distracted driving.
Brian Nester, DO, president and CEO of Lehigh Valley Health Network, expressed excitement over the good the new partnership can accomplish.
“As an emergency room physician for the last 25 years, I’ve seen what trauma does to patients. I’ve seen the effects of traumas on families,” said Dr. Nester. “We need to do everything and anything we can to get trauma prevention messages out to the community.”
