The donation was from Edele Hovnanian through the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation, according to a Nov. 4 news release from RWJBarnabas.

The money will go toward improvements of the emergency department at the hospital. The $37 million project includes air filtration, individual rooms with glass walls, efficient patient flow, and tests like CT scans, X-rays and ultrasounds.

“We are so grateful to Edele and the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation for their generous contribution to our Emergency Department renovations,” CEO Patrick Ahearn said. “This gift will help ensure that our community has increased access to care when they need it most and will play a vital role in bettering the health and well-being of Ocean County residents.”
