The $600,000 project was approved by the hospital district’s board last week. The new pharmacy is expected to open by the end of summer.
Patients will be able to access the new pharmacy from a new window in Powell Valley Hospital’s main lobby and from a drive-up window.
“We are excited to get this project started and look forward to bringing a new retail pharmacy service to the community,” Powell Valley Healthcare CEO Terry Odom told the Powell Tribune, adding that the facility “will give the community another convenient option for pharmacy services.”
Powell Valley already has an in-house pharmacy that dispenses to inpatients. This new project will expand pharmacy services for the hospital.
