Fairfax, Va.-based Inova Health System recently opened a 75,000-square-foot central pharmacy center, which it says is the largest centralized pharmacy services center in Virginia.
The facility houses specialty, retail and mail-order pharmacy operations aided by “advanced automation, robotic filling, medical-grade refrigeration, and a large call center,” according to an Inova spokesperson.
The central pharmacy “brings together clinical pharmacists and pharmacy liaisons under one roof,” Inova said in an Aug. 4 LinkedIn post.
The site also includes a warehouse to manage purchasing, shortage mitigation and inventory management services, as well as dedicated space to add offices and training rooms.
