The effort expands VA’s existing five-year partnership with Walgreens, under which the pharmacy services provider offers veterans free flu shots. As part of the new deal, VA providers will be able to access patients’ complete medication and immunization history when they receive these services at Walgreens.
“This arrangement is the first of its kind and it’s a strong collaboration,” VA Secretary Robert Wilkie said in a news release. “Partnerships like this will help VA continue to improve the way we care for veterans.”
