Charlottesville, Va.- based UVA Health is expanding its pharmacy services with a new 40,000-square-foot pharmacy centralized services center.
The facility, located at the University of Virginia’s North Fork discovery park, aims to meet growing demand for specialty, home delivery and pharmacy support services, according to an April 7 news release from the health system.
The center will initially create 50 jobs, including pharmacists, technicians, and IT and supply chain staff, the release said. The new site will also feature automation technology that is capable of helping to process up to 4,000 prescriptions per shift.
The facility is set to open in January.
