Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health has opened a central pharmacy facility to support its expanding specialty and home delivery pharmacy services.
The 40,000-square-foot center, located in North Fork, Va., features an automation system designed to process up to 4,000 prescriptions per shift, according to a March 20 news release. The technology aims to accelerate medication delivery and enhance accuracy.
The new facility will help UVA Health support its medical centers, outpatient clinics and retail pharmacies across Virginia, in addition to its home delivery network spanning 16 states.
