The University of Southern California Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has received a $300,000 grant from the Centene Foundation and Health Net to expand services at its USC Pharmacy and Wellness Center in South Los Angeles.
The funding will support early implementation of the USC Pharmacy and Wellness Center, which opened April 13, 2026, and expand preventive services including health screenings, patient education, immunizations, tobacco cessation and naloxone distribution, according to a July 13 news release.
The grant also will fund free community health worker certification for staff at community pharmacies across South Los Angeles, strengthen chronic disease management programs through the California Right Meds Collaborative and provide funding to five local organizations delivering health education focused on maternal and reproductive health, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.
