Mr. Lyons had been serving as the health system’s interim vice president of pharmacy since August 2020. While in that position, he helped develop systemwide pharmacy distribution strategies for remdesivir, monoclonal antibodies and vaccines.
In his new role, he will lead pharmacy strategy for the entire system and report to its COO, Steve Burriss.
Mr. Lyons joined UNC Health in 2016 as the executive director of its pharmacy service line. He is also a professor at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
