Orange, Calif.-based UCI Health has appointed Melanie Joe, PharmD, vice president and system chief pharmacy officer.
Dr. Joe is responsible for developing the strategic vision for UCI Health Pharmaceutical Services, according to a LinkedIn post from the UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Her responsibilities span UCI Health’s academic medical center, UCI Health Irvine and its community hospitals in Fountain Valley, Lakewood, Los Alamitos and Placentia-Linda. She also oversees strategy related to retail and infusion pharmacies, specialty pharmacies and ambulatory pharmacy practice across the system.
Dr. Joe also serves as founding associate dean for pharmacy professional affairs at the UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences.
