While Pfizer first announced price increases for 100 medications July 1, the drugmaker decided to freeze the price hikes after scrutiny from President Trump.
Novartis on June 18 also shared plans to halt any drug price increases in the U.S. for the remainder of the year.
“Thank you to Novartis for not increasing your prices on prescription drugs. Likewise to Pfizer,” President Trump tweeted July 19. “We are making a big push to actually reduce the prices, maybe substantially, on prescription drugs.”
