Here are four notes:

  1. Harris Health tapped  Capsa to design and implement an automated central-fill pharmacy system with the goal of addressing inefficiencies in current operations and scale the health system’s ability to handle more prescriptions, according to a Jan. 21 news release from the health system.
  2. The new automated system will increase Harris Health’s prescription processing from 5,000 to 15,000 prescriptions per day. The capacity boost will be supported by a new 60,000-square-foot facility, designed to accommodate future growth and rising demand.
  3. In partnering with Capsa, Harris Health looks to address operational bottlenecks, including outdated robotics, a small and inefficient facility and a reliance on manual processes.
  4. Capsa’s plan for Harris emphasizes automation to reduce operating costs, minimize human error and improve overall pharmacy efficiency.
