NAPA Final Briefs Discuss ACOs, Value-Based Purchasing

North American Partners in Anesthesia released the final two briefs in its six-part series on transforming hospital operating rooms in the age of healthcare reform.

Brief five is titled “Aligning Your Hospital and Anesthesia Group for Value-Based Purchasing and Other Reimbursement Penalties/Incentives.” It addresses reform-driven Medicare incentives and discusses quality metrics to maximize payments, according to the release.

Brief six, “Aligning for ACO Cost and Quality Outcomes,” focuses on managing costs and outcomes through accountable care organizations, including incorporating accountable care into a hospital’s perioperative landscape.
