Roche has entered a strategic collaboration and license agreement with Hansoh Pharmaceutical Group covering a portfolio of antibody-drug conjugate programs across multiple cancer types.
Hansoh will receive $400 million upfront and $110 million on the first anniversary and is eligible for more than $15 billion in potential milestone payments, according to an Oct. 19 news release. Hansoh is also eligible for tiered royalties on potential future product sales.
The portfolio includes two preclinical Hansoh ADC programs and multiple programs based on Roche-proposed targets that use Hansoh’s proprietary ADC technology platform.
Hansoh will lead early development through completion of global phase 1a clinical trials. Roche will then be responsible for further development worldwide, except in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. In those markets, Hansoh will keep development, registration and commercialization rights.
The deal follows Pfizer’s May collaboration with Innovent Biologics. That 12-drug oncology agreement covers antibody-drug conjugates and multispecific antibodies and is worth $650 million upfront and up to $10.5 billion total.
