PillPack’s branding changed from “PillPack, an Amazon company” to “PillPack by Amazon Pharmacy,” which may suggest Amazon intends to expand its pharmacy ventures.

PillPack specializes in filling multiple prescriptions in clearly labeled packages for patients who tend to be older so that they remember to take them at the right times. Amazon could expand to other areas of pharmacy by targeting patients with acute medical needs or adding pharmacies to its retail stores.

PillPack CEO TJ Parker, PharmD, was promoted to vice president and is now leading PillPack within Amazon, according to CNBC.
