The drugmakers previously projected making about 2.5 billion doses this year. By mid-April, Pfizer said it had signed contracts accounting for 1.6 billion doses to be delivered this year, according to The Hill.
The vaccine earned Pfizer $3.5 billion in the first quarter of 2020, the company said May 4.
