Organization creates 15th specialty pharmacy certification

The Board of Pharmacy Specialties is developing an exam for a new specialty pharmacy certification.

The organization currently administers 14 specialty pharmacy certification programs: ambulatory care, cardiology, compounded sterile preparations, critical care, emergency medicine, geriatric, infectious diseases, nuclear, nutrition support, oncology, pediatric, pharmacotherapy, psychiatric and solid organ transplantation pharmacy. 

On Aug. 5, the Board of Pharmacy Specialties announced the upcoming launch of the pain management pharmacy specialty certification. More information will be provided later this year.
