Pharmacy benefit manager Script Care has reached a $135,000 settlement with Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond, resolving concerns over its pharmacy audit practices in the state.
The settlement follows a review of 27 audits involving 24 Oklahoma pharmacies, according to a March 16 news release from the attorney general’s office. The office found that more than $38,000 had been inappropriately recouped in violation of the state’s Pharmacy Audit Integrity Act and Patient’s Right to Pharmacy Choice Act.
Under the agreement, Script Care will pay $135,000 — $91,969 of which will be distributed to the affected pharmacies, while approximately $43,000 will cover the state’s investigative and legal expenses and continued oversight of the agreement.
The resolution includes no admission of liability from Script Care. The PBM cooperated fully during the review and has agreed to strengthen its audit and reporting practices in accordance with Oklahoma law, according to the release.
